After yet another short rant about Spider-man I felt like drawing something Spider-man related and cute ti raise an unseen middle finger at Quesada. And nothing says Spider-man and cute like "Spider-man loves Mary Jane'
I believe am the only one to hate "Spider-Man loves Mary Jane". I wanna read some Spidey with thrills, chills, and spills! Not some sappy comic book about a teenage superhero, and other teenage boys, falling mindlessly over a red-headed, beauty queen, damsel in distress Mary-Sue. I dislike the whole Spidey/MJ relationship. Bite me.
good work. joe quesada can rot in hell. damn him, spiderman was interesting. maturity and growth...and new storylines about learning to take responsibility for one's actions...but wait instead let revamp the last 20 years and still make peter singel, 25ish and with no responsibilities. who would you choose your aunt who would be dead in oh 10 or 15 years or your wife?
The picture shows things the way things should have been.
"One More Day" was a stupid decision to make, not just because it ended one of Marvel's classic marriages, but the way it was ended. I personally could have dealt with "One More Day" a lot better if some supervillian finally succeeded in killing MJ, at least that way it was something out of Peter's control. But, the way it was done, by making a deal with Mephisto, and MJ being the one who is really gung-ho about making the deal, to save Aunt May was a stupid. And it's a slap in the face to the writers and pencilers who created MJ. According to "One More Day", MJ's most memorable line is a lie, because she was the one who really wanted to take Mephisto's deal.
I know, right? I mean, removing all events of Parker's Marriage from history? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?! Totally ruins a heartfelt farewell! Call me stupid if you must, but was there even a heartfelt farewell in that comic? I havn't read the whole thing.
In OMD... no, no there wasn't. There might be some in some heartfelt goodbyes in earlier issues... but I first starting buying Spider-Man comics shortly after MJ lost her own baby... After that point there were no real good goodbyes...
